Grayson’s softball team split a doubleheader on Saturday at home against Temple, winning the nightcap, 4-0.


Nina Castillo hit a two-run double in the top of the fourth to give the Lady Vikings (13-13, 7-5) a four-run lead that became the final. Castillo finished 2-for-3 at the plate and drove in three runs, while Jordan Gundersen and Apryl Weber each went 2-for-3.


Courtnee Jones picked up the win in the circle for the Lady Vikings, recording seven strikeouts.


In the first game, Castillo, Courtnee Jones and Christina Guckes each went 1-for-3 to account for Grayson’s three hits in a 5-0 loss.


Grayson will host a doubleheader Wednesday against Vernon with game times set for 1 and 3 p.m.
