Grayson College’s softball team got off to strong starts in both games, but conference-leading McLennan rallied each time to take wins of 4-2 and 5-2 in an NTJCAC doubleheader on Wednesday.


The Lady Vikings scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning of the opener on Kelsie Finch’s two-run single and held a lead until the seventh. Jordan Gundersen took the loss, going six-plus innings.


In the nightcap, Grayson (10-12, 4-4) again plated two runs in the first, this time on Diana Rodriguez’s two-RBI single, for a 2-1 lead, but McLennan scored three in the fourth to go in front for good.


The Lady Vikings will host a make-up twin bill today against Cisco at 1 and 3 p.m. They will also host Temple on Saturday.
