BRENHAM — Grayson College’s softball team took a 3-0 lead after six innings, but San Jacinto College scored all its runs in the top of the seventh to hand the Lady Vikings a 6-3 loss at Blinn College on Sunday.

BRENHAM — Grayson College’s softball team took a 3-0 lead after six innings, but San Jacinto College scored all its runs in the top of the seventh to hand the Lady Vikings a 6-3 loss at Blinn College on Sunday.


The Lady Vikings scored twice in the third inning on RBI hits by Nina Castillo and Rachel Sutton, the latter with two out. Sutton added a run-scoring double in the sixth.


Sutton was 2-for-2 with two RBI, Castillo was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Jordan Gundersen added a double for Grayson (1-5).


Earlier Sunday, the Lady Vikings took on host Blinn and dropped an 11-2 decision in five innings. Castillo’s sac fly in the first inning scored Alicia Weber, and in the second, Apryl Weber drove home Sara Smith with a double.


Grayson will play two games at Rose State (Okla.) next Saturday.
