TEMPLE — Five Vikings homered in the second game of the Grayson baseball team’s doubleheader Saturday at Temple before a power outage suspended the game.


After taking a 10-5 victory in the first game, Grayson (20-8, 9-2) surged to a 15-3 lead heading into the top of the fifth when the power went out and the game was postponed for a date to be determined.


Chris Gittens and Austin Krajnak hit back-to-back home runs on consecutive pitches in the first inning, while Krajnak added another dinger later in the game. Willie Schwanke and James Gillean each added home runs to the Vikings’ outburst.


In the first game, Gillean hit a two-run homer in the seventh to seal the win. Gillean finished 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBI, while Zack Reding went 3-for-3, scored twice and drove in two runs.


Grayson will host Eastern Oklahoma at 2 p.m. Monday.
