The Austin College women’s basketball team completed a regular season sweep of Trinity University, handing the Tigers just their second Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference loss of the year with a 74-69 win on Saturday night.

Christina Kime hit 11-of-12 free throws, including two in the final seconds to ice the victory, and finished with a game-high 23 points, adding five assists and five rebounds to lead the ‘Roos (11-10, 6-5 SCAC).


Erin Riley finished with 16 points, hitting 6-of-7 shots including 4-of-4 3-pointers. Kendall Heitmeier had 13 points off the bench, hitting 5-of-9 shots and all three of her treys. Brittany Stepanski just missed out on a double-double, scoring 10 and grabbing nine rebounds, and Brooke Melton pulled down nine boards and added five points and three assists.


Also on Saturday, the Austin College men fell to Trinity, 79-63, dropping to 7-13 overall and 3-8 in SCAC play. Ransom Okpala scored all 20 of his points in the second half and hit 3-of-6 3-pointers in the game while pulling down five rebounds. Jeremy Swisher was the only other ‘Roo in double figures, scoring 12 in the loss.
