The Austin College men’s basketball team found itself in a 12-point halftime hole and was unable to dig itself out, falling 67-56 to the University of Texas-Dallas on Tuesday night to complete a doubleheader sweep in Hughey Gym.

Kevin Graham led the ‘Roos (2-2) with 15 points while Brian Baehl hit 8-of-9 free throws on his way to 12 points off the bench. Jeremy Swisher finished with 12 as the ‘Roos shot 34.5 percent from the field and were outrebounded 43-25.


Earlier Tuesday, the Austin College women staged a big comeback in the waning moments, but the ‘Roos were unable to completely close the gap, falling 72-68.


Brittany Stepanski had 15 points, nine rebounds, and three blocked shots and Christina Kime finished with 15 points and three assists to lead the ‘Roos (1-3), while Brooke Melton had 13 points, seven boards, and two blocks and Erin Riley finished with a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in the loss.
