The defending Class 2A champion Bells Lady Panthers will take on Albany at the state tournament in Austin.


The University Interscholastic League released the pairings on Sunday and Bells (26-8) faces Albany (26-4), the Region I champion, in a state semifinal at noon on Wednesday at the University of Texas’ Red and Charline McCombs Field.


Normangee (30-4) and Woden (24-6) play in the first semifinal at 9 a.m. on Wednesday. The winners play for the state championship at 3 p.m. on Thursday.


In Class 1A, Ector is at state for the first time and the Lady Eagles (9-12) will face Borden County (25-4), the Region I champion, in a semifinal at 11 a.m. on Friday at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.


Elkhart Slocum (17-3) plays D’Hanis (11-13) in the other semifinal at 2 p.m. on Friday and the winners plat at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the University of Texas’ Red and Charline McCombs Field.
