CHISUM — The Pottsboro Cardinals fell behind early and will need to win a double-header after White Oak earned a 10-0 victory in five innings in Game 1 of a Class 3A Region II semifinal series at Paris Chisum on Thursday night.
Pottsboro (23-6) has to win Game 2 tonight at 6 p.m. to force a deciding Game 3 that would immediately follow.
White Oak (28-7) is looking to advance to the region final for the first time since 2010.
Pottsboro, which had allowed eight runs in its previous six playoff games, fell behind 1-0 in the first inning and 4-0 after two innings. White Oak then scored six times in the third to push its lead to double digits.
