DURANT, Okla. — Southeastern Oklahoma State softball freshman Elexis Watson hauled in her first All-American honor on Wednesday as an honorable mention selection for the D2CCA All-American team.
The Muskogee, Okla., native earned D2CCA First Team All-Central Region honors earlier which was on the heels of a first-team NFCA All-Central Region selection.
Watson was named the Great American Conference Freshman of the Year as well as receiving first team All-GAC honors and was additionally named a Co-Most Outstanding Female Athlete for Southeastern.
She was ranked in the GAC top five in nine different offensive categories, including average, slugging, home runs, doubles, and RBI. She hit .391 on the season and finished with 71 hits, 16 homers and 19 doubles while driving in 54 runs and scoring 43.
Watson slugged .767 and boasted a .488 on base percentage while in the field she carried a .995 fielding percentage at first base.
