AUSTIN — The Tioga girls golf team is tied for fifth place with Clyde Eula after the first round of the Class 1A state tournament at Lions Municipal Golf Course on Monday.

The Lady Bulldogs shot a combined 427 and are nine shots back of second place Happy and 70 shots behind leader Blanket, who shot a total of 357.

Peyton Moore led Tioga with a 96 and is currently tied for 12th. Destiny Manness is tied for 17th after shooting 100, Brittany Barnett finished with 106 and is tied for 30th and Emily Adlof shot a 125 and is tied for 61st.

Emily Furry of Blanket leads the tournament by nine after shooting 75.

Class 3A

The Howe (405) girls are in eighth place and Callisburg (455) sits in 12th place after the first round of the Class 3A state tournament at Grey Rock Golf Club on Monday.

Howe sits 12 shots back outside of the top five behind Shallowater (393) going into the final round on Tuesday. Rockdale has the lead with a 373.

Charlsee Carter led Howe with a 93 and is tied for 15th, Meradith Ross sits tied for 23rd after shooting a 96, Peyton Streetman shot a 107 and is tied for 53rd, Kriston Harris shot a 109 and is tied for 59th and Molly Wilson sits in 63rd after shooting a 114.

Lindsey Bullard led Callisburg with a 92 and is tied for 13th. Sasha Barletta shot a 112 and is tied for 61st, Keela Carter sits in 67th with a 122, Libby Wells is in 69th with a 129 and Chantel Crisp is 74th with a 147.

Lyndy Laurell of Rockdale leads with a 75.
