Before he put pen to paper, Les Siems took an opportunity to thank his coaches and teammates for making a dream come true.

That dream officially became a reality on Friday morning, when the senior signed to play football at Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma. The Warriors compete in the Central States Football League in the NAIA.

“It’s a great day,” Siems said, “I’ve been wanting to play college football since I was little. I like that it’s a small college and a great opportunity for me.”

Siems added depth on a defensive line that helped the Yellow Jackets finish with an 8-3 record and make a second straight trip to the postseason in 2017. As he finishes his time in high school, he says that he’ll look back at his time in school with plenty of fond memories.

“I’d like to thank all my coaches and teammates for all their hard work to help me get here,” Siems said of his time at Denison. “It’s been a wonderful experience and I’m going to miss them all.”

He also credits his family for helping him work on the other parts of his game.

“I’ve had to work on everything,” Siems said. “Whether it was running 5Ks or working on my deadlift or my brother helping with my speed, they’ve been there.”

As for what he’s looking forward to the most, the defensive tackle is just ready to get started.

“I’m just looking forward to hitting people,” he said.
