DURANT, Okla. — Southeastern Oklahoma State’s Carlos Anez has been named the Great American Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week following his performance in a sweep of conference foes last week.
The sweep helped lift the Savage Storm to a regular season GAC title, the team’s third in the last five seasons.
Anez, a junior from San Diego, Venezuela, turned in a perfect effort in singles play, defeating Harding’s Carlos Crisostomo, Ouachita’s Dan Kaplan and Oklahoma Baptist’s Lucas Castelo Branco.
He also picked up a pair of doubles wins at the No. 1 position with partner Ondrej Nice.
