Taryn Gaines added 14 points and six rebounds, Zachareia Sommers scored six points, Ikia Lacy totaled six points and six rebounds and Olivia Marr chipped in five points, four rebounds and three assists for Denison (20-4, 3-0), which plays at Denton Braswell on Friday night.

Denton Ryan 56, Sherman 25

Alaura Andrews scored seven points for Sherman but Denton Ryan defeated the Lady Bearcats in 5-5A action at Bearcat Gymnasium on Tuesday.

Madison Sorrels added six points for Sherman (7-16, 1-3), which has dropped three straight since a district-opening overtime win against Rider. The Lady Bearcats have the district bye on Friday night.

Whitesboro 66, Gunter 33

GUNTER — Piper Dunn scored 20 points as Whitesboro beat Gunter in a district make-up game on Tuesday night.

Phoenix West added 16 points and 12 rebounds, Destiny Mack chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds and Casey Monk totaled five points, 10 rebounds, five assists, five steals and four blocks for Whitesboro (17-7, 2-1), which hosts S&S at 6 p.m. on Friday.

Sarah Putnicki scored 14 points and Bri Carr added 12 points for Gunter.

District 10-3A

Van Alstyne 53, Farmersville 37

VAN ALSTYNE — Emma Donald scored 18 points as Van Alstyne defeated Farmersville in district action on Tuesday night.

Avery Duncan added 11 points, Harley Butler and Micah Welch each scored six points and Torin Riddick finished with six points and 11 rebounds for Van Alstyne (14-9, 3-1), which has the 10-3A bye on Friday and will play a non-district contest at Pottsboro.

Leonard 83, Lone Oak 22

LEONARD — Bridget Watson scored 30 points as Leonard defeated Lone Oak in district action on Tuesday night.

Jessi Bennett added 17 points, 10 assists and six steals for Leonard (19-3, 3-0), which gained sole possession of first place.


Melissa 50, Pottsboro 42

MELISSA — Sally Clemmons scored 16 points as Melissa defeated Pottsboro in non-district action on Tuesday night.

Taylor Thomas had 12 points and four assists, Taylor Carney added 10 points and Charley Lane chipped in five rebounds and four steals for Melissa (19-3).

Haiden Williams had 14 points and four assists, Madeline O’Hanlon added 13 points and 13 rebounds, Hadley Williams chipped in seven points and Riley Westervelt grabbed five rebounds for Pottsboro (20-4).

ANNA — Paige Granstaff scored 46 points as Dodd City defeated Anna in non-district action on Tuesday night.

Abby Weeks added 16 points and Journie Hilliard chipped in eight points for Dodd City (22-1).

Ector 40, Tom Bean 29

ECTOR — Destiny Whitburn scored 14 points as Ector defeated Tom Bean in non-district action on Tuesday night.

Sunnie Bingham added 12 points while Stormy Shockley and Mary Salazar each finished with six points apiece for Ector.

Cheyanne Worley scored 10 points and Jillian Beck added eight points for Tom Bean (8-13).

Honey Grove 52, Commerce 26

HONEY GROVE — Alexandra Morrison scored 16 points as Honey Grove defeated Commerce in non-district action on Tuesday night.

Zakia Smith added 12 points and Makiyah Johnson chipped in six points for Honey Grove (13-11), which broke the game open by outscoring Commerce, 21-4, in the fourth quarter.

BONHAM — Melanie Lewis scored 25 points as Bonham beat Community in non-district action on Tuesday night.

Emma Bounds added 15 points and Averi Reeves chipped in 14 points for the Lady Warriors.

CELINA — Kya Gastineau scored nine points during Celina’s non-district loss against Sunnyvale on Tuesday.

Lexi Ford added eight points and McKinley Wright chipped in seven points for the Lady Bobcats.

SALTILLO — Haley Arledge had 10 points and four steals during Bells’ non-district loss against Saltillo on Tuesday.
