McKINNEY — Jaylen Edmonson scored 13 points as Sherman finished the McKinney Tournament with a 47-36 loss against McKinney Boyd in the Silver Bracket semifinals on Saturday.
Kursten Alexander added eight points and Libby Ticknor chipped in seven points for Sherman (7-15).
In tournament action on Friday, Sherman lost its semifinal, 47-29, against McKinney North. Jaylen Edmonson scored 12 points and Kursten Alexander added seven points.
Denison 70, Van 32
ARDMORE, Okla. — Zya Nugent had 17 points, eight steals, six rebounds and six assists and was named to the all-tournament team as Denison defeated Van to close out the Ardmore Tournament on Saturday.
Olivia Marr added 12 points and five assists, Maddi Nixon scored 10 points, Zachareia Sommers totaled eight points and nine rebounds and Ikia Lacy chipped in eight points and four rebounds for Denison (19-4).
In tournament action on Friday, Denison suffered a 60-57 loss against Ardmore. Nugent had 27 points, four steals and three rebounds, Lacy added 11 points and seven rebounds, Marr totaled eight points, five assists and four steals and Taryn Gaines chipped in six points and 10 rebounds.
Pottsboro 54, Leonard 52
LEONARD — Madeline O’Hanlon had 14 points, nine rebounds and five assists as Pottsboro nipped the host Tigerettes to win the Leonard Tournament title on Friday night.
Riley Westervelt added 13 points and five rebounds, Haiden Williams chipped in 10 points and four assists and Hannah Fellinger finished with nine points for Pottsboro. O’Hanlon was named the MVP with Williams and Westervelt named to the all-tournament team.
Bridget Watson scored 17 points while Claudia Ware and Jessi Bennett each chipped in nine points for Leonard.
Whitesboro 56, Prairiland 31
LEONARD — Karlee Schuessler had 13 points and seven steals as Whitesboro beat Prairiland for fifth place at the Leonard Tournament on Friday.
Phoenix West added nine points and eight rebounds and was named to the all-tournament team, Piper Dunn totaled nine points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals, Destiny Mack finished with eight points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals and Casey Monk contributed eight points, five rebounds, 11 blocks and five steals for Whitesboro (16-7), which returns to district play at Gunter on Tuesday night.
The Lady Bearcats started the day with a 52-25 victory against Cooper. West had 14 points and seven rebounds, Schuessler chipped in 13 points and six steals, Gabbie Case finished with eight points and six assists and Mack added seven points and seven rebounds.
Rains 34, Whitewright 29
LEONARD — Amaya Rice and Jy Johnson each scored seven points during Whitewright’s loss to Rains in the consolation championship game of the Leonard Tournament.
Gracie Robinson and Zoe Magnuson added five points apiece for Whitewright.
Prairiland 69, Bells 63
LEONARD — Courtney Davidson scored 15 points as Bells closed out the Leonard Tournament with a loss against Prairiland on Friday.
Alexis Grove added 12 points, Bella Smith chipped in 10 points and Cheznie Hale finished with eight points for Bells.
Farmersville 52, Bonham 41
LEONARD — Melanie Lewis scored 24 points as Bonham finished the Leonard Tournament with a loss against Farmersville on Friday.
Shelby Jones added seven points and Emma Bounds chipped in six points for Bonham.
Era 61, Dodd City 54
GAINESVILLE — Paige Granstaff scored 26 points but Dodd City suffered its first loss of the season in the championship game of the NCTC Tournament on Saturday.
Abby Weeks added 17 points and Dani Baccus chipped in seven points for Dodd City (21-1).
In tournament action on Friday, Dodd City earned a 68-38 victory against Nocona. Granstaff scored 24 points, Abby Weeks totaled 20 points, Baccus chipped in 10 points and Journie Hilliard finished with nine points.
Wolfe City 76, Detroit 39
QUINLAN — Lauren and Laney Turner each scored 18 points as Wolfe City closed out the Boles Tournament with a victory against Detroit on Friday.
Lexi Blassingame added 12 points, Erin Moore finished with 10 points and Dunia Russell chipped in eight points for the Lady Wolves (10-9), who host Callisburg on Tuesday.
Wolfe City started the day with a 54-47 loss against Collinsville. Lauren Turner had 16 points, Russell scored 10 points, Tori Malone added nine points and Moore finished with eight points.
Ector 50, Celeste 46, OT
ECTOR — Sunnie Bingham scored 20 points and Ector outlasted Celeste in overtime to win its tournament on Saturday night.
Destiny Whitburn added 18 points and joined Bingham on the all-tournament team while Montana Johnson was named the MVP.
In tournament action on Friday, Ector earned a 35-14 victory against Tom Bean. Whitburn scored 15 points while Bingham and Johnson each finished with 10 points.
Clarksville 41, Tom Bean 36
ECTOR — Jillian Beck scored 12 points during Tom Bean’s loss against Clarksville in the third-place game of the Ector Tournament on Saturday.
Cheyanne Worley added nine points and Alyssa Edwards chipped in seven points for Tom Bean (8-12).
In tournament action on Friday, Tom Bean suffered a 35-14 loss against Ector. Beck scored 11 points to lead the Lady Tomcats.
Winnsboro 75, Honey Grove 23
WINNSBORO — Alexandra Morrison, Isabella Morrison and Makiyah Johnson all scored six points in Honey Grove’s non-district loss against Winnsboro on Friday afternoon.
Honey Grove fell behind by eight points after the first quarter and trailed 31-11 at half-time.
