Four members of the defending state champion Gunter Tigers earned all-state honors in Class 3A for the 2017 season by the Texas Associated Press Sports Editors.

Senior Adrian Martinez was a second-team all-state selection on the offensive line and was honorable mention all-state as a defensive lineman. Martinez graded out at 94 percent with 72 pancake blocks and no sacks while adding 39 tackles, eight for a loss, with two sacks.
Junior Braiden Clopton was an honorable mention pick at wide receiver after 35 catches for 544 yards and 10 touchdowns with nine rushing touchdowns. He was first-team all-state last season at defensive back.
Senior linebacker Zach Lowe and junior defensive back Dylan Jantz were named honorable mention all-state. Lowe totaled 82 tackles, 11 for a loss, with three sacks and two pass breakups. and Jantz had 29 tackles with four interceptions and two pass breakups.
The Tigers go for their 32nd straight victory and a second consecutive 3A Division II state title against Newton at 7 p.m. on Thursday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
Leonard senior linebacker Tanner Young was named second-team all-state after finishing with 175 tackles, 15 for a loss, and three sacks.
DeKalb senior running back Jaquan Jackson was named the Offensive Player of the Year and Sabine junior linebacker Kobe Renfro was named the Defensive Player of the Year.
