FRISCO — Jaylen Edmonson scored 23 points as the Sherman Lady Cats defeated Frisco Heritage, 50-45, in non-district action on Friday night.


Madison Kehrer scored eight points and Libby Ticknor added seven points for Sherman (2-4), which hosts McKinney Boyd at noon on Monday.


Polk Key City Tournament


Denison 57, El Paso Burgess 47


ABILENE — Zya Nugent had 27 points, 10 rebounds and five steals as Denison closed out the Polk Key City Tournament with a victory against El Paso Burgess on Saturday.


Ikia Lacy added 12 points and 15 rebounds and Taryn Gaines finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Yellow Jackets (6-2), who host Whitewright at 1:15 p.m. on Monday.


In tournament action on Friday, Denison finished the day with a 36-33 loss against El Paso Franklin.


Denison started the day with a 53-36 victory against Caprock. Nugent had 20 points, five assists and four rebounds, Lacy added eight points and five rebounds and Zachareia Sommers totaled six points, five assists, two rebounds and two steals.


The Lady Jackets started the tournament with a 75-65 loss against Abilene on Thursday. Nugent had 25 points, 7 assists, six steals and five rebounds, Lacy chipped in 18 points, six steals and four rebounds and Gaines finished with six points, six rebounds and three assists.

BELLS — Haiden Williams had 12 points and four assists as Pottsboro earned third place in the Gold Bracket at the Bells Tournament on Saturday.


Hannah Fellinger added 11 points, five assists and four rebounds, Pyper James chipped in 10 points and five points and Tatum Rekieta grabbed seven rebounds for Pottsboro.

Whitesboro 60, Decatur 28


BELLS — Phoenix West scored 21 points as Whitesboro won the Silver Bracket at the Bells Tournament with a victory against Decatur on Saturday.


Casey Monk added 11 points, Gabbie Case chipped in 10 points and Piper Dunn was named all-tournament for Whitesboro (5-2), which travels to Sanger at 1:15 p.m. on Monday.


In tournament action on Friday, Whitesboro beat Honey Grove, 64-33, in the Silver Bracket semifinals. Case had 19 points, Karlee Schuessler chipped in 13 points, West finished with 11 points and Dunn scored 10 points.


Honey Grove 48, S&S 32


BELLS — Diavian Shaw scored 15 points as Honey Grove beat S&S to close out the Bells Tournament on Saturday.


Isabella Morrison added 11 points and Makiyah Johnson added 10 points for Honey Grove.


Taylor Jackson had nine points, Halie Hicks chipped in eight points and Colleen Billmeier added six points for S&S (3-4), which plays at Caddo Mills at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.


In tournament action on Friday, Honey Grove lost against Whitesboro, 64-33, in the Silver Bracket semifinals. Morrison scored 16 points and Shaw added nine points.


In tournament action on Friday, S&S lost against Decatur, 47-27, in the Silver Bracket semifinals. Kaylee Baker had 11 points, Payton White added six points and Hicks finished with five points.

BLUE RIDGE — Destiny Whitburn had 18 points and was named all-tournament after Ector earned third place at the Blue Ridge Tournament with a victory against Redwater on Saturday.


Sunnie Bingham added 15 points and was also on the all-tournament team and Stormy Shockley chipped in 10 points for Ector (6-1).


The Lady Eagles started the day with a 60-45 victory against Collinsville. Bingham had 27 points and Whitburn added 23 points.


Savannah Fields scored 13 points to lead Collinsville while Gracie Cavin added 12 points and Brittney Fields finished with 10 points.


Bland Tournament

Dodd City 90, Bland 34


MERIT — Paige Granstaff and Abby Weeks scored 24 points apiece as Dodd City defeated Bland to win the Bland Tournament on Saturday.


Journie Hilliard and Delaney Pilliod each finished with 11 points and Dani Baccus added 10 points for Dodd City (4-0).


In tournament action on Friday, Dodd City beat Lone Oak, 90-21, in the semifinals. Granstaff had 31 points and three steals, Weeks finished with 27 points, six assists, three rebounds and two steals, Pilliod totaled 13 points and seven rebounds and Hilliard added 10 points, 15 rebounds and six blocks.

MERIT — Chloe Farrer and Kaitlyn Lind each scored six points in Tom Bean’s loss against Lone Oak in the third-place game at the Bland Tournament.


Jillian Beck chipped in five points.


In a 45-28 semifinal loss against Bland, Cheyanne Worley scored 11 points while Beck and Lind each finished with six points for Tom Bean (2-3).

Van Alstyne 74, Paris 52


VAN ALSTYNE — Noah Boling and Samuel Tormos both scored 23 points Saturday to lead Van Alstyne past Paris in non-district action on Friday.


Tyler Sperry chipped in 11 points for the Panthers.


Clint Franklin and Jalen Easter each scored eight points to lead Paris.


Prairiland 60, Tom Bean 51


PATTONVILLE — Ben Lind had 14 points and 14 rebounds during Tom Bean’s non-district loss against Prairiland on Friday.


Blakeston Jones chipped in 14 points and six rebounds, Bryce Grier added 12 points and four assists and Tristian Bankston finished with eight points and nine rebounds for the Tomcats.
