PILOT POINT — Quincy Kemp had 121 yards and four touchdowns on 12 carries as Pilot Point beat Howe, 38-16, to clinch a playoff spot in District 5-3A (I) action on Friday night at Massey Stadium.


Andrew Griffin had 27 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown and Chase Harvey also scored on the ground for Howe (0-9, 0-4), which led 16-8 in the second quarter before Kemp cut the deficit to two with his second touchdown.


Jaime Tavera kicked a 30-yard field goal late in the third quarter and Kemp scored three times in the final 12 minutes, including a fumble recovert for a touchdown, for Pilot Point (3-6, 2-2), which closes out the season at Van Alstyne on Friday. Jacob Pitts added 13 carries for 82 yards.


District 4-4A (I)


Sanger 56, Gainesville 44


GAINESVILLE — Calion Baker had 22 carries for 198 yards and three touchdowns as Gainesville’s comeback attempt fell short against Sanger in district action on Friday.


Brandon Baker added 15 carries for 114 yards and two touchdowns and Josh Kemp had a TD pass to Jalen McGee for Gainesville (3-6, 1-3), which did all its scoring in the second half after Sanger (4-5, 2-2), which clinched a playoff spot and eliminated the Leopards, took a 42-0 lead.


District 5-4A (II)


Celina 35, Bonham 21


CELINA — Noah Ross ran for three touchdowns as Celina beat Bonham to clinch a playoff spot on Friday night.


Logan Point added two touchdown runs for the Bobcats (6-3, 3-1), who face Aubrey with the winner getting the second seed for the playoffs.


Trevor Hartwell had four catches for 81 yards and a touchdown, Jerrell Stewart also hauled in a scoring pass and Tyler Rodriguez threw for 160 yards and two scores and ran for 95 yards and a TD on 16 carries for Bonham (3-6, 1-3), which will clinch a playoff spot with a victory against Community in its finale.


District 6-3A (II)


Cooper 40, Whitewright 13


COOPER — Marshall Mangrum and Marcus Reeves ran for touchdowns during Whitewright’s district loss against Cooper on Friday.


Reeves’ score gave Whitewright (2-7, 0-5) a 7-0 lead before Cooper (4-5, 3-2) scored 40 points by the end of the third quarter, when Mangrum closed out the scoring.


S&S 49, Prairiland 16


PATTONVILLE — Jayce Howard ran for 147 yards and three touchdowns on eight carries and was 2-for-2 passing for 80 yards and two scores as S&S kept its playoff hopes alive with a victory against Prairiland on Friday.


Cole Sloan finished with 18 carries for 121 yards and two TDs and added a touchdown catch and Ruri Aguilar chipped in a 62-yard TD reception for S&S (5-4, 2-3), which needs to beat Cooper on the finale to stay alive for the postseason.


District 6-2A (I)


Celeste 45, Trenton 7


TRENTON — Dakota Risner had 16 carries for 101 yards and a touchdown during Trenton’s district loss against Celeste on Friday.


Christian Verde finished with 49 yards on 13 carries and was 7-of-12 passing for 70 yards and Hagen Moore totaled six catches for 52 yards for Trenton (0-9, 0-5).


District 9-2A (I)


Honey Grove 47, Boles 29


HONEY GROVE — Jacob Caffee had 173 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries as Honey Grove defeated Boles in district action on Friday.


Ben Patrick ran for a pair of touchdowns and also was 7-of-8 for 149 yards with a TD pass to Devin Fulbright and Diego Coronado kicked a 34-yard field goal for Honey Grove (5-4, 2-2), which can clinch a playoff spot with a win against Simms Bowie in the finale this week.


Linden-Kildare 61, Wolfe City 21


LINDEN — Dylan Wilson had 14 carries for 111 yards and a touchdown during Wolfe City’s district loss against Linden-Kildare on Friday night.


Devonta Brown added nine carries for 73 yards and a TD and Travis Williams chipped in 12 carries for 47 yards and a score for Wolfe City (8-1, 3-1), which can share the district title with a victory against first-place Rivercrest in the finale.


TAPPS District 3-III


Texoma Christian 26, Dallas Covenant 22


Jack Turner was 8-of-15 for 145 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 106 yards and a TD on 24 carries as Texoma Christian defeated Dallas Covenant in district action on Friday.


Mathias Coleman finsihed with three catches for 94 yards and three touchdowns for Texoma Christian (5-3, 1-3), which will clinch a spot in the playoffs with a victory in the finale against Gainesville State.
