The Sherman Lady Cats won their second match in a row Tuesday, holding off Wichita Falls High, 25-17, 15-25, 25-18, 21-25, 15-10, to open the second half of the District 5-5A schedule and avenge an earlier loss to the Lady Coyotes.


Madi Gladen had 13 kills and 12 digs as Sherman (26-8, 3-4) picked up a much-needed victory heading into Friday’s match at Denison. The winner will have sole possession of third place.


Kylie Jackman added nine kills for Sherman with Sarah Graham getting seven, Rylie Bernard six and Alexis Jackman four. Graham and Dallas Aleman led the Lady Cats with four blocks, while Alexis Jackman had three.


Aleman also posted team highs with 40 assists and 18 digs. Cameron Wecker finished with 15 digs.


Denton Ryan def. Denison 3-0


DENTON — Taylor Greenameyer had 14 kills, eight digs and three blocks for third-place Denison but first-place Denton Ryan came away with a 25-20, 25-14, 25-20 victory in 5-5A action on Tuesday.


Kiara Scott added six kills and 10 digs, Drew Hayes chipped in four kills and three digs, Courtney Gillespie handed out 29 assists to go with nine digs and Taylor Dawes collected nine digs for Denison (22-10, 3-4), which hosts rival Sherman at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.


District 11-4A


Melissa def. Celina 3-1


MELISSA — Caroline Kasson had 16 kills and 19 digs as Melissa defeated Celina 26-24, 15-25, 25-20, 25-23 to force a three-way tie for first place.


Melissa (20-9, 3-1) pulled even with Celina and Aubrey in the standings.


Susan Blake added 12 kills and seven digs, Sophia Davis recorded 16 assists to go with 10 digs, Charley Lane finished with 12 assists and 13 digs and Brittany Melcher collected 18 digs.


District 9-3A


Gunter def. Pottsboro 3-0


GUNTER — Camryn MacDonald had 15 kills and seven digs as second-place Gunter defeated Pottsboro, 25-22, 25-22, 25-17, in district action on Tuesday.


Beth Gilbreath added nine kills and three blocks, Sarah Franze chipped in five kills and 24 digs, Jacee Childers handed out 36 assists to go with nine digs and Alyssa Jarrell collected 13 digs for Gunter (23-8, 6-1).


Whitesboro def. S&S 3-0


SADLER — Qyra Ressler had 10 kills, nine digs and four aces as Whitesboro beat S&S, 25-14, 25-13, 25-13, in district action on Tuesday.


Maggie McCorkle totaled 12 assists, eight digs and six kills, Phoenix West added five kills and eight digs, Sierra Parks put down five kills and Karlee Schuessler finished with 18 assists, nine digs and three kills for Whitesboro (17-13, 4-3).


District 10-3A


Van Alstyne def. Lone Oak 3-1


LONE OAK — Alyssa Hill had 21 kills and 13 digs as Van Alstyne defeated Lone Oak, 20-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-21, in district action on Tuesday.


Valerie Young added 13 kills and Lindi Boling collected 52 digs for Van Alstyne (17-11, 4-3).


Commerce def. Leonard 3-2


LEONARD — Alyssa Davis had 24 kills and 27 digs for third-place Leonard but first-place Commerce pulled out a 25-20, 25-22, 17-25, 22-25, 15-5 victory on Tuesday.


Linda Feagan handed out 41 assists to go with eight digs, Madelyn Butler added 12 kills and 15 digs, Mikayla Farber collected 12 digs and Chloey Baker finished with 11 digs for Leonard (22-10, 4-3).

Lindsay def. Tioga 3-1


TIOGA — Nicole Hill put down 12 kills for second-place Tioga but first-place Lindsay earned a 25-18, 16-25, 25-11, 25-18 victory on Tuesday.


Andrea Perez added nine kills and five aces, Carly Hough chipped in eight kills and two blocks and Brittany Barnett handed out 31 assists for Tioga (22-10, 6-2).


District 11-2A


Blue Ridge def. Tom Bean 3-2


TOM BEAN — Shelby Gerner had 27 kills, nine blocks and six digs as co-leader Blue Ridge rallied to beat Tom Bean, 25-22, 24-26, 26-28, 25-19, 15-13, in district play on Tuesday.


Ellery Martin added 14 kills and seven blocks, Skyler Gerner finished with 11 kills and four blocks, Kelsie Kennon collected 16 digs to go with four blocks, Marlaina Morgan handed out 22 assists, Dakota Deckard chipped in 19 assists and six digs and Taylor Langwell contributed 26 digs for Blue Ridge (14-12, 7-1).


Baylee Stautzenberger had 14 kills, Jillian Beck totaled 18 assists, 10 kills and 10 digs, Cheyanne Worley chipped in five kills, six digs and three aces, Lauren Getts and Lexi Ellis each put down four kills and Jewel Mason collected 18 digs for Tom Bean.

DODD CITY — Journie Hilliard had seven kills and two aces as co-leader Dodd City defeated Roxton, 25-11, 25-5, 25-6, in district action on Tuesday.


Cassandra Woodlee put down five kills, Delaney Pilliod added four kills and two aces, Abby Weeks handed out 17 assists, Sarah Brent chipped in a pair of kills and Dani Baccus collected two digs for Dodd City (20-6, 7-1).


Bells def. Wolfe City 3-1


WOLFE CITY — Dezeray Poe put down 12 kills as co-leader Bells defeated Wolfe City, 16-25, 25-23, 26-24, 26-24, in district action on Tuesday.


Bella Smith added nine kills and 10 digs, Charli Waggoner chipped in eight kills and seven digs, Cheyenne Floyd totaled eight kills and 11 assists, Hali Williams handed out 22 assists and Kennedy Derzapf collected 12 digs for Bells (14-17, 7-1).


Trenton def. Savoy 3-0


SAVOY — Gracie Holden had 10 kills and two aces as Trenton topped Savoy, 25-8, 25-8, 25-16, in district action on Tuesday.


Maddison Lavoie added six kills and seven digs and Bethany Nors handed out 16 assists to go with four kills for fourth-place Trenton (14-19, 5-3).
