DURANT — South-eastern Oklahoma State linebacker Justin Young has been named the Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Week following his performance in a 41-21 win over Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday.


Young posted seven tackles, four of them solo, and added a tackle for loss, totaling a loss of eight yards.


He also added a first half interception off a deflected pass and forced a fumble in the second half that was recovered by Troy Parker.


Southeastern will be back in action Saturday when it travels to Northwestern Oklahoma State.
