DURANT, Okla. — Southeastern Oklahoma State’s Zach James has been named the Great American Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week following his performance in a second-place finish at the NSU Golf Classic.
James, a Whitesboro native, carded a three-round total of 207 to finish at minus-six for the event at the Muskogee Country Club, picking up his second-straight second-place finish in as many tournaments.
He opened play with a 68 and followed it up with a 71 on his second trip around on Monday. He closed out the event with a 68.
In six rounds on the season he has posted five scores in the 60s and no score worse than par.
James is currently fifth in the country statistically among Division II golfers with an average score of 68, but is the only one in the top-20 to have maintained that score over six tournament rounds.
