WHITESBORO — Scout Sanders had a hand in all three touchdowns as Whitesboro defeated Aubrey, 20-7, in non-district action.
Sanders opened the scoring with a 46-yard TD pass to Weston Hickman in the middle of the second quarter and then had a 13-0 half-time lead on his 79-yard scoring pass to Noah Greisen.
It was 20-0 with 9:50 left in the game as Sanders had a 40-yard touchdown run for Whitesboro (2-0).
Aubrey (1-1) got on the board a little over a minute later on Pablo Vera’s five-yard TD run.
Gainesville 45, Iowa Park 41
IOWA PARK — Calion Baker ran for 287 yards and four touchdowns on 29 carries as Gainesville defeated Iowa Park in non-district action on Friday night.
Josh Kemp had three catches for 116 yards and two touchdowns, including the deciding points with 7:32 remaining in the fourth quarter, and Ivan Franco kicked a 43-yard field goal for Gainesville (1-1).
Trent Green threw three touchdown passes and ran for a score to pace Iowa Park (1-1).
Argyle Liberty Christian 10, Celina 9
ARGYLE — Kason Howell’s five-yard touchdown run with 8:27 remaining lifted Argyle Liberty Christian to a victory against Celina in non-district action on Friday.
Ryan Nebeker’s two-yard TD run in the third quarter had given the Bobcats (1-1) the lead. Celina added a safety to get with in a point late in the fourth quarter.
The Bobcats finished with just 227 yards.
Liberty Christian improved to 2-0 despite four turnovers.
Bowie 37, Howe 14
BOWIE — Andrew Griffin led Howe with 15 carries for 80 yards but the Bulldogs couldn’t slow down Bowie in a non-district loss on Friday night.
Ty Harvey caught a six-yard touchdown pass from Cirby Coheley and Austin Lee added a six-yard TD run for Howe (0-2).
Matthew Wallace ran for 99 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries for Bowie (1-1).
Muenster 42, Pilot Point 0
PILOT POINT — The Hornets held Pilot Point to just 122 yards and three first downs in a non-district victory against the Bearcats on Friday.
Parker McGrew threw three touchdown passes and ran for two scores to lead Muenster (2-0).
Pilot Point (1-1) did get a fumble recovery by Reagan Gochis and an interception from Ty Hellman.
Bells 56, Chico 20
BELLS — Hunter Hawthorne caught nine passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns as Bells defeated Chico in non-district action on Friday night.
Bryan Ponder was 27-of-38 for 509 yards and four touchdowns and also ran for a score while Eli Strickland had a pair of touchdown runs, Matthew Conner ran for a score and Jacob Taylor caught a TD pass for Bells (2-0).
Collinsville 49, Era 21
COLLINSVILLE — Garrett Vannoy ran for 116 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries as Collinsville beat Era in non-district action on Friday.
Gustavo Romo finished with 11 carries for 185 yards and a TD while Trey Shelby added 10 carries for 45 yards and two touchdowns and Cooper Smith also scored on the ground for Collinsville (2-0).
Wolfe City 75, FW Diamond Hill-Jarvis 7
WOLFE CITY — Devonta Brown had 202 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries as Wolfe City beat Fort Worth Diamond Hill-Jarvis in non-district action on Friday.
Dylan Wilson added seven carries for 93 yards and four touchdowns and returned a punt 76 yards for a touchdown, Tim Wright had a 27-yard interception return for a TD, David Guillen chipped in four carries for 28 yards and a score and Cody Greenway had a 39-yard TD run for Wolfe City (2-0), which ran for 507 yards on 39 carries.
It was the 69th straight loss for Diamond Hill-Jarvis (0-2), the longest current streak in the state.
Anna 20, Callisburg 6
ANNA — Keelan Crosby had a touchdown pass and returned a punt for a score as Anna defeated Callisburg in non-district action on Friday night.
Crosby connected with Emmonte Davis for an 11-yard TD after returning a punt 60 yards for a touchdown and Abner Dubar scored on an 11-yard run for Anna (1-1).
Chisum 42, Honey Grove 12
PARIS — Ben Patrick had a touchdown run and added a touchdown pass during Honey Grove’s non-district loss against Chisum on Friday night.
Devin Fulbright caught the touchdown throw and Jacob Caffee finished with five carries for 46 yards for Honey Grove (1-1).
