The Sherman Lady Cats pushed their winning streak to 10 matches Friday as they tuned up for district play with a 25-17, 25-21, 25-9 home victory over Anna.


Rylie Bernard had 12 kills and three aces to lead Sherman (22-4), while Madi Gladden finished with 10 kills. Kylie Jackman had seven kills and three blocks with Sarah Graham recording five blocks. Dallas Aleman had 36 assists and seven digs.


Sherman hosts Greenville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday to wrap up the non-district portion of its schedule.


Whitesboro def. Tioga 3-2


TIOGA — Qyra Ressler had 15 kills, 11 digs and three aces as Whitesboro outlasted Tioga, 25-21, 28-30, 18-25, 25-21, 15-13, in non-district action on Friday.


Karlee Schuessler finished with 13 kills, 18 digs and 32 assists, Phoenix West totaled 11 kills and 21 digs, Maggie McCorkle added 10 kills, 10 digs and 20 assists and Sierra Parks chipped in nine kills, nine blocks and seven digs for Whitesboro.

MELISSA — Susan Blake had 19 kills and three aces as Melissa swept Wylie East, 25-16, 25-17, 25-23, in non-district action on Friday.


Caroline Kasson added 10 kills and three aces, Aubrey Grantham totaled five kills and two blocks, Sophia Davis handed out 26 assists to go with 17 digs, Brittany Melcher collected 21 digs, Ella Branson finished with 10 digs and Charley Lane chipped in 11 assists and seven digs for the Lady Cardinals.


S&S def. Howe 3-0


SADLER — Payton White put down 11 kills as S&S defeated Howe, 25-22, 25-19, 25-9, in non-district action on Friday.


Grace Johnson had eight kills, four digs and three aces, Leighann Wolfe totaled four kills, 15 assists and 10 digs, Halie Hicks handed out eight assists and Mickey Baur collected six digs for the Lady Rams.

Gunter def. Iowa Park 2-1


NOCONA — Camryn MacDonald was named to the all-tournament team as Gunter claimed the consolation championship of the Silver Bracket at the Nocona Tournament with a 16-25, 25-22, 25-21 over Iowa Park on Saturday.


Gunter defeated Bowie, 25-23, 26-24, to advance to the consolation final.


MacDonald finished Saturday with 23 kills, five blocks, 19 digs and three aces. Beth Gilbreath added 19 kills and four blocks, Nyah Ingram had 19 digs and five aces and Jacee Childers recorded 64 assists and 28 digs.


In a 25-15, 25-23, 25-13 non-district victory at Bells on Friday, MacDonald had 19 kills, eight digs, five aces and two blocks, Gilbreath put down 12 kills, Childers handed out 26 assists to go with five digs and Ingram finished with seven digs and three aces for the Lady Tigers (16-7).

Gold Bracket


Sulphur Springs JV def. Bells 2-0


COMMERCE — Bells dropped a pair of matches Saturday in the Gold Bracket of the Cumby/Commerce Tournament, falling 25-10, 25-19 to Leonard and 25-21, 25-13 to the Sulphur Springs junior varsity.


Dezeray Poe led Bells with seven kills and a block in the two matches. Alexis Grove, Charli Waggoner and Cheyenne Floyd each finished with three kills for the day. Grove added two blocks, while Floyd had five assists and three digs and Waggoner had two assists and six digs and Hali Williams recorded 10 assists and four digs.


In a 25-15, 25-23, 25-13 non-district home loss against Gunter on Friday, Smith, Poe and Waggoner all had three kills, Alexyss Williams added three digs and Hali Williams finished with three aces and two assists for the Lady Panthers.
