DURANT, Okla. — Southeastern standout Anton Cook is continuing his basketball career in Brazil, signing with Liga Sorocabana de Basquete of the Novo Basquete Brasil.

Cook is one of just three American players on the roster and four from outside of Brazil and has moved into the starting lineup, dropping 15 points in the team’s opener.

He moves on to the professional level after turning in the best season of his four-year career for the Savage Storm, with the 6-2 native of Birmingham, Ala., finishing the year with a season average of 19.6 ppg which was third in the league.

His 2016-17 season was highlighted by a pair of 40-point games, the first being a GAC record-setting 46 points in a loss at Henderson State, then breaking that mark with 48 points three weeks later in a 121-112 home win over Harding.

Cook posted 24 double-digit scoring outings and topped the 20-point mark 11 times, including nine of his final 13 games.
