HUNTSVILLE — Seth Mullis’ grand slam turned the game around in the top of the seventh as NJCAA No. 14-ranked Grayson College overcame a 6-1 deficit with a six-run inning in a 12-10 non-conference win against No. 20 San Jacinto College on Wednesday at Sam Houston State University.

Mullis’ slam to left gave Grayson a 9-7 lead after the Vikings had surrendered six runs in the bottom of the first inning. Andrew Miller followed with a solo homer for good measure.

All nine batters in the Vikings’ lineup had at least one hit as Grayson finished with 16 total.

Mark Gottsacker finished 3-for-5 and scored four runs, and Bennett Oberstein was 3-for-6. Mullis, Miller and Ryne Randle added two hits each. Miller and Ty Jones each added two RBI to Mullis’ four.

Kendall Kennedy finished with the win with four innings on the mound in relief of starting pitcher Gabe Constantine. Taylor Floyd pitched a clean ninth to pick up the save.

The Vikings (29-10) have the NTJCAC bye this weekend and will return to action with a twin bill at Ranger College next Wednesday.

The Vikings trail No. 3 McLennan Community College by three games in the loss column with eight games remaining.
