SANGER — Jaylyn Cleamons scored 22 points as Sherman outlasted Van Alstyne, 87-82, in overtime on the first day of the Sanger Tournament.


Kemonte Dowdy added 19 points, Jeremy Norvell chipped in 16 points, Rayvon Hester totaled 15 points and Daishawn Nelson finished with 13 points for Sherman.


Tyler Sperry scored 19 points, Noah Boling added 18 points and Julian Wilson finished with 12 points for Van Alstyne.


Denison 49, Aubrey 43


SANGER — D’Aundre Barker and Noah Burden each scored 11 points as Denison rallied past Aubrey to open the Sanger Tournament on Thursday morning.


Christian Ruebeck added eight points and Boston Byerly chipped in seven points for Denison (1-4), which outscored Aubrey 15-3 in the fourth quarter.


The Yellow Jackets continue tournament action today at 10:30 a.m. against Ponder.


S&S Tournament


Texoma Christian 56, Howe 41


SADLER — Blaise Bentsen totaled 16 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks as Texoma Christian beat Howe at the S&S Tournament on Thursday.


Marlen Williams finished with 17 points, four rebounds and four steals, Kyle McCarthy chipped in 10 points, five assists and three steals and Carson Crow added eight points and seven rebounds for Texoma Christian (6-1), which advanced to today’s semifinals to face S&S.


Ty Harvey scored 16 points and Elijah Campbell added 14 points for Howe (0-1).


Pottsboro 51, Valley View 27


SADLER — Ethyn Snider scored 12 points as Pottsboro opened the S&S Tournament with a victory over Valley View on Thursday.


Jaxon Recer added nine points, Kai Barr finished with eight points and Daniel Arnold, Blake Dyer and Jaylyn Robbins all chipped in six points for Pottsboro (3-1), which faces Henrietta in the semifinals today at 1:30 p.m.


S&S 58, Alvord 37


SADLER — Devin Orr had 18 points and 12 rebounds as S&S opened its tournament with a victory over Alvord on Thursday night.


S&S (2-1) will face Texoma Christian today in the semifinals.


Celeste Tournament


Gunter 49, Honey Grove 31


CELESTE — Logan Nelson scored 12 points as Gunter defeated Honey Grove to close out the first day of the Celeste Tournament on Thursday.


Brandyn Brewer added 11 points, Nick Gonzalez chipped in 10 points and Tyler Scott finished with six points for Gunter, which takes on Tom Bean today at 11:45 a.m. as tournament action continues.


Devin Fulbright had nine points, Trel Pruitt added seven points and T.K. Williams finished with five points for Honey Grove.


The Tigers started the tournament with an 80-58 victory against Quinlan Boles. Nelson scored 21 points, Brewer added 14 points, Quinten Layman finished with 14 points and Scott chipped in 11 points.


Honey Grove 44, Tom Bean 43


CELESTE — T.K. Williams hit a jumper at the buzzer to lift Honey Grove over Tom Bean at the Celeste Tournament on Thursday.


Williams scored 24 points, Ka’dadrain Hicks added eight points and Devin Fulbright chipped in six points for Honey Grove (3-3).


Tyler Goff had 10 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks, Noah Boyd added nine points, four rebounds and three steals and Dillon Curd scored seven points for Tom Bean.


Saint Jo Tournament


Tioga 64, Gold-Burg 35


SAINT JO — Justin Rodriguez had 19 points, five assists and four steals as Tioga opened the Saint Jo Tournament with a victory against Gold-burg on Thursday.


Josiah DeLeon added 10 points and 15 rebounds, Javier Rivera chipped in nine points and nine rebounds and Will Koberick scored six points for Tioga.


The Bulldogs closed out the day with a 52-34 loss against Ringling (Okla.). Koberick had eight points, DeLeon added six points, Rivera totaled five points and four rebounds and Rodriguez scored five points for Tioga.


Farmersville Tournament


Bonham 58, Bells 54


FARMERSVILLE — Hunter Hawthorne had 12 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists during Bells’ loss against Bonham in the Farmersville Tournament.


Tyler Hawthorne added 12 points and Maverick Priest scored nine points for Bells.


The Panthers started the tournament with a 54-44 victory against Harvest Christian. Hunter Hawthorne had 22 points, 14 rebounds and four assists, Priest finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds and Tyler Hawthorne chipped in six points, four assists and four rebounds.
