Jahmaria Tavie led three Sherman players in double-digit scoring on Tuesday night as the Lady Bearcats held on to beat Princeton, 43-40, in non-district action at Bearcat Gymnasium.
Ally Hampton added 11 points and Alyssa Rushing 10 for the Lady Cats (4-6), who took a 13-6 first-quarter lead and nursed it the rest of the way, although Princeton cut it to three at the end of three.
The Lady Cats will play in the Pottsboro Tournament against the hosts beginning at noon Thursday.
Denison 52, North Lamar 40
PARIS — Zya Nugent was 15-of-18 from the floor, finishing with 34 points and grabbing 10 rebounds as Denison beat North Lamar.
Zachareia Sommers added five points, two rebounds, two steals and two assists and Olivia Marr scored five points for Denison (6-4), which will compete in the Pottsboro Tournament starting on Thursday.
Pottsboro 69, Celina 53
CELINA — Madeline O’Hanlon had 32 points and 19 rebounds as Pottsboro beat Celina.
Haiden Williams totaled 17 points, five assists and three steals, Hatty Shope scored 12 points and Riley Westervelt chipped in four points and five assists for Pottsboro (7-0), which opens its tournament by facing Sherman at noon and Bonham at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
Grace Gibbs scored 16 points and McKale Grant added 13 points for Celina.
Lovejoy 55, Melissa 36
LUCAS — Natalie Conlin scored 12 points during Melissa’s non-district loss against Lovejoy.
Sally Clemmons added nine points and Skyla Mackey chipped in four points for Melissa, which was 3-of-5 from the free-throw line while Lovejoy went 24-of-35.
Van Alstyne 45, Campbell 39
CAMPBELL — Madison Reno had 20 points and five rebounds as Van Alstyne defeated Campbell.
Maegan Thomas added 11 points and Bre McCaskill chipped in five points for Van Alstyne (8-3), which takes on Henrietta in the Clay County Classic at Petrolia at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
Trenton 43, Quinlan Boles 34
QUINLAN — Bria Green scored 29 points as Trenton defeated Quinlan Boles.
Jessica Withrow added 11 points for Trenton (5-3), which opens pool play at the Celeste Tournament against Fruitvale at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.

SADLER — Kaylee Baker had 17 points and seven rebounds during S&S’ loss to Tom Bean.
Payton White added five points and eight rebounds and Halie Hicks chipped in four points and seven rebounds for S&S.
Bells 52, Alba-Golden 39
BELLS — Kinley Ives had 15 points and 13 rebounds as Bells defeated Alba-Golden.
Katie Branam totaled 17 points and eight rebounds, Hannah Ponder added seven points and eight rebounds and Keisha Arellano chipped in six points and four rebounds for Bells (6-1).
Muenster 48, Howe 36
MUENSTER — Peyton Streetman had 15 points and six steals in Howe’s non-district loss against Muenster.
Landry Rhoten added five points, 16 rebounds and six steals, Madisyn Hargrove chipped in five points and six rebounds and Kayla Anderson totaled four points and five rebounds for Howe.
Honey Grove 56, South Hills 21
HONEY GROVE — Isabella Morrison had 14 points, nine rebounds and three steals as Honey Grove defeated South Hills.
Shemiyah Finney added 14 points and five rebounds, Dee Shaw chipped in 12 points and four steals, Nicole Kirkpatrick scored 11 points and Bree Cason grabbed six rebounds for Honey Grove.

DODD CITY — Paige Granstaff scored 25 points and Dodd City edged Wichita Falls Rider.
Lindsay Carter added eight points, Abby Weeks finished with seven points and Fallon Hilliard chipped in six points for Dodd City (7-0).
