FRISCO — Sherman had a three-point halftime lead, but let it slip away in the second half as Frisco Liberty took a 52-41 non-district win from the Bearcats on Tuesday night.

Qualin Hayden led the Bearcats (5-9) with 17 points, and Brandon Colon added 10.

Tuesday’s game was the first time the Bearcats had all their players together following football and a recent bout of sickness, head coach Ryan Purtell said.

“We don’t have much offensive chemistry,” Purtell said. “Qualin got sick and missed the tournament, and we’ve had other players sick or taking the ACT test. We don’t have very long to get it together.”

The Bearcats will host Frisco Wakeland on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in their final tuneup for District 13-4A play.
