I think we all must be living right because Mother Nature sure has given us some wonderful weather lately. Each night when I go home, I turn on the Weather Channel to see what is coming in the next day or so. And if something big is coming up I check for the next 10 days.

This weekend my favorite 5-year-old is coming to stay with me. I have been watching the weather pretty closely. We know for sure that we are taking her to the trick-or-treat village at the Sherman Public Library, but what happens after that is going to pretty much depend upon the weather.

While it would be easy to complain about the chance of rain on the weekend, things could be much worse. We need the rain, and there are parts of the country that are dealing with freezing temperatures and snowfall already. So a little bit of rain isn’t really that much to handle.

The rain will also mean Grayson County commissioners might get to go a little longer before they consider placing the county back under a burn ban. I know that decision is never easy for them, so I guess I will just deal with the chance of rain — like I had much choice about it the first place.

Personally, I am glad none of us can control the weather. Can you imagine the fights it would cause? In our newsroom alone, each day is a running battle between those who are too cold and those who are too hot.
