I have lived in Constitution Village for over 21 years, and it seems to me like our area is being maligned by the city of Sherman or the Highway Department. Reading the paper daily, seems as though auto accidents are numerous in this city.

Constitution Village currently has no turn lanes from FM 1417. The speed limit even speeds up before one turns into our living area, and, someday, there will be an accident or maybe even a fatality when trying to turn. Believe me it is no fun to have to sit and wait to turn off of FM 1417, knowing motorists are speeding up to 55 miles per hour at the same time and place that one is sitting in the middle of this highway.

Until Constitution Village is passed, the speed limit should be about 35 miles per hour. Another problem in the morning rush traffic is drivers coming out of Constitution Village have to sit and wait for numerous vehicles to pass who are traveling above 50 miles per hour.

Some drivers, including myself, have to pull out in front of the people, in order to get on the road. Seems to me Sherman ought to protect their citizens before giving out-of-towners the right to speed by our highway entrances trying to get to work, on time. There are a lot of older drivers who do not want to have to "kick it" to the floor to get a place in traffic.
