DURANT — Following her first individual meet championship at the Northwestern State Demon Invitational, Southeastern Oklahoma State’s Bailee Weger has earned Great American Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honors.

DURANT — Following her first individual meet championship at the Northwestern State Demon Invitational, Southeastern Oklahoma State’s Bailee Weger has earned Great American Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honors.


She bested the field of 50 and led Southeastern to its second meet championship of the year. The Storm won the meet with a score of 27 points as all five SOSU runners finished in the top 10.


Weger edged out teammate Haylee Story by two seconds, clocking a 20:10.6, which is her second-best time of the season.


The individual win represented the first in program history.


Southeastern will be back in action on Oct. 26 when it travels to Russellville, Ark., to compete in the Great American Conference Championship.
