Truth Church


DENISON — Truth Church’s "Harvest Fest", featuring treats for the kids, will take this Saturday, from 5-8 p.m. This event had to be rescheduled due to last week’s inclement weather.


Candy will be given to all the children from truck and car trunks. There will also be craft and vendor booths, , face painting, a ring toss, and activities and games for the entire family — including a hayride for the children. There will also be drawings for door prizes to be given away to those who register at the door. (You must be present to win). There will also be food concessions and baked items.


The trip, originally planned for this Saturday, has been moved to a future date.


Services at Truth include Sundays — 9:30 a.m. worship and 10 a.m. Sunday School, 6 p.m. evening worship. Wednesday — Breakpoint 6:59 p.m. and "In the Word" at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary. Saturday — Family prayer, 8 p.m.

Red River Cowboy


SHERMAN — The members of Red River cowboy Church invite you to spend your Sunday mornings with them. Sunday School begins at 10 a.m. and worship services follow at 11 a.m. Novice Northington, pastor, will be sharing the message.


A nursery attendant is provided from 9:45 a.m. until noon for newborns to age 4.


Worship services, held in their new sanctuary, include a band and an overhead screen which allows everyone to sing along with the music in a casual setting. Coffee and doughnuts are available during the service.

DENISON — Ron Wallace, Durant author, will present "Selected Readings from Six Books" during this Sunday’s 11:15 a.m. worship service at Red River Unitarian Universalist Church.


Three of Wallace’s volumes of poetry, which focus on Native American, cowboy and family themes, have been finalists in the annual Oklahoma Book Awards and three have been chosen the Best Book of Poetry by The Oklahoma Writer’s Federation.


During this Sunday’s 10 a.m. Adult Forum, they will take and discuss a survey about preferred topics for future Adult Forum sessions.


In Children’s Religious Education, Alice the Alligator will read the story "Spite Fences" and will present symbols of world religions.
