Donna Niemann took top honors at the 4th Annual Nature Photography Contest sponsored by the Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge. Judging the competition were Rick Cantu, assistant manager of the refuge, Thomas Judd, a professional photographer from Denton, and Skip Hill a local professional photographer. Overseeing the competition was Laurie Sheppard.

Niemann’s entry entitled "Dew" was named as Best of Show, as well as earning first place in the competition’s artistic division. First through third place winners in each category were as follows: flora and macro — Carl Hill, first and third and Donna Niemann, second; landscape — Bob Brown, first, Randy Conaway, second, and Lee Hatfield, third; artistic — Donna Nirmann, first, Nancy Miller, second, and Bob Brown, third; and wildlife — Bill Powell, first, Randy Conaway, second, and Lee Hatfield, third.
