WHITEWRIGHT — The members of the First Presbyterian Church of Whitewright invite the community to join them on Sunday, Oct. 27 for the celebration of their 160th year of existence and service to the Lord.

WHITEWRIGHT — The members of the First Presbyterian Church of Whitewright invite the community to join them on Sunday, Oct. 27 for the celebration of their 160th year of existence and service to the Lord.


The celebration will be a worship service at 11 a.m. at the church. Larry Phillips, Texas State Representative, will be the featured speaker. Also speaking will be a descendant of Christopher Sears, the founding family of the church.


There will be joyous hymns as well as a special musical presentation. A light lunch will be served in the fellowship hall following the celebration.


A celebratory release of 160 balloons will follow the festivities.


The congregation hopes that all members, former members, friends and the community will join them on this special day.


The church is located at Blanton and Walnut in Whitewright.
