The non-profit Animal Refuge Foundation (ARF) of Sherman will be the recipient of funds raised at the "Big Dog" Car and Truck Show on Oct. 26. The event is being hosted by Grayson Bible Baptist Church at its location, 4400 East Hwy. 82 in Sherman.

The non-profit Animal Refuge Foundation (ARF) of Sherman will be the recipient of funds raised at the "Big Dog" Car and Truck Show on Oct. 26. The event is being hosted by Grayson Bible Baptist Church at its location, 4400 East Hwy. 82 in Sherman.


The entry fee is $20 and registration will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Independent judging will run from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m., and awards will be presented at 3 p.m. Teeshirts will go to the first 50 entries. Car classes will be pre-50 original, pre-50 modified, 50-59 original, 50-59 modified, 55-57 Chevy, 60-80 original, 60-80 modified, 80 and new original, 80 and newer modified, Camaro/Firebird, Mustang, Corvette, convertible, street rod, 2000 and newer muscle car, import, special interest/race car and custom. Truck classes are pre-50 original, pre-50 modified, 50-80 original, 50-80 modified, 80 and newer original, 80 and newer modified. Special awards will be: Best of Show Original (car or truck); Best of Show Modified (car or truck); Best General Motors car or truck; Best Ford car or truck; Best Mopar car or truck, Best of the Rest car or truck.


In addition to the vehicles, ARF, a care-for-life, no-kill canine sanctuary, will be showing some of its many dogs. There will also be obedience training demonstrations. Food and drinks will be available.
