SHERMAN — The St. John CME Missionary Society will have their annual Missionary program at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The theme will be "Christian Missionaries — ‘Worshipping, Serving and Witnessing for Christ’ " based on Matt. 25;35-36.

SHERMAN — The St. John CME Missionary Society will have their annual Missionary program at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The theme will be "Christian Missionaries — ‘Worshipping, Serving and Witnessing for Christ’ " based on Matt. 25;35-36.


Rev. Commie O. Linson, pastor of St. James in Sherman and Haven Chapel AME in Denison, will be the special guest speaker.


Rev. Linson is a Sherman native and a 1974 graduate of Sherman High School. She was approved by the Board of Ordained Ministry after examination to attend Perkins School of Theology at SMU and became a licensed ordained pastor in February 2011. Upon completion of a Master’s of Divinity degree, she will be one step closer to being ordained as an Elder in the UMC Church. She was appointed senior pastor of St. James and Haven Chapel by Bishop Earl Bledsoe in June 2011.


She is married to Minister David Linson. They have three children and five grandchildren.
