DENISON — "A Voice in the Wilderness" will be Dr. Rachel Tudor’s topic during this Sunday’s 11:15 a.m. worship service at Red River Unitarian Universalist Church.


Dr. Tudor, professor of English at Collin College, is an award-winning Native American writer and a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation. Her talk Sunday will address the experience of transitioning from one gender to another and society’s attitudes toward those who make that transition.

Waples UMC


DENISON — The Last Supper, an iconic image created centuries ago by the hand of Leonardo da Vinci in an Italian mural, has come to visualize that pivotal moment in the life of Jesus Christ that embodies the Easter season.


As in years past, Waples Memorial United Methodist Church in Denison will bring a recreation of this masterpiece to life with the "Living Lord’s Supper."


Under the direction of Sam Patty, members of Waples’ congregation will re-enact the Lord’s Last Supper on Sunday, April 13 at 7 p.m. in the Waples UMC sanctuary, 830 W. Main St. in Denison.


This free event is open to the public and will feature full musical interludes to accompany the powerful words of Jesus Christ as he prepared for his last supper and his inevitable crucifixion. The script was written by Sam Patty and music will be provided by the Waples Chancel Choir.


This event, on Palm Sunday evening, April 13, will kick off the holy Easter week, to be followed by a Maundy Thursday service at Waples at 6:30 p.m. April 17 and a Good Friday Service at 6:30 p.m. April 18 as well.


Easter morning, April 20, will feature a sunrise service at Munson Park Pavilion in Denison. This is open to all who wish to come. Services on Sunday at Waples UMC will start at 8:45 and 11 a.m.

SHERMAN — Grace United Methodist Church invites you to join them on this Women’s Sunday. Guest speaker Rev. Virgie Holbrook will bring the message "Living Light" based on Psalm 23 and Eph. 5:8-10. SAVOY — Choctaw Creek Cowboy Church and Lowell Howard, preacher, invite you to join them at 10 a.m each Sunday for music, donuts and fellowship followed by worship music and Bible preaching at 10:30 a.m. The Choctaw Creek Cowboy Band provides the music.


Lowell Howard’s message this Sunday is titled "The Only Freedom That Lasts" based on John 8:31-41.


Once a quarter, on the Fifth Sunday, the church gathers for breakfast together at 8 a.m. This Sunday, March 30, the church will have breakfast at Nick’s Restaurant in Denison. You’re invited to join them.


Plans for arena events at the Block Arena in Savoy will begin at 2 p.m. April 27.

Mon-11 a.m Music/ Bible study, "A" Hall Clyde Cosper Veterans Home, Bonham. 2nd Tues-11 a.m. Lunch Bunch eats out (April 8, Denison Country Club, patio). 4th Wed-11 a.m Music/ message, Wesley Village, Denison. Wed- 7 p.m. Country gospel singing, CCCC. Thurs-11 a.m Gospel music therapy, Memory Care, Cosper. 3rd Thurs-2:30 p.m Gospel music concert, Texoma Healthcare, Sherman. 4th Thurs-11 a.m. Gospel music concert, Cosper. 3rd Sat-7 p.m. Community Pickin’ and Singing, Sadler Community Center. 5th Sunday Breakfast-8 a.m. March 30, Nick’s Restaurant, Denison.
