Perhaps most notably, Hall helped make the Preston Harbour development a reality by guiding the legislation needed to transfer hundreds of acres of Lake Texoma shoreline to the high-end development. That development is a massive part of the future growth for Denison and Grayson County.

First elected in 1980, Hall’s tenure has earned him spots on both the Energy and Commerce Committee and the Science, Space, and Technology Committee. Why replace that seniority and knowledge of energy and economic issues, which are vital today more than ever, with freshman status? Hall has long fought for his constituents’ interests, and despite his advancing age, he remains up to the challenge.

If another day older is another day wiser, nearly 33,000 days old is exceedingly wise. And we think this 90-year-old has many more days ahead for that wisdom to grow and, perhaps, spread to those in Congress around him.

Early voting for the Texas primary election began Tuesday. Primary election day is March 4.
