I wonder why Kinne left or was he forced out. I don’t understand exactly what he did that caused the sanctions against him. Were they too severe?

Editor’s note: This letter is regarding an article that appeared on the front page of the Jan. 19 edition of the Herald Democrat regarding Sherman High School head football coach Gary Joe Kinne’s announcement that he was resigning.


I wonder why Kinne left or was he forced out. I don’t understand exactly what he did that caused the sanctions against him. Were they too severe?


Kinne was a great coach for Sherman football. He replaced at guy who people didn’t like because he couldn’t win. Kinne won and won big. Yeah, maybe he is very excitable, but I rather see that in a football coach then one of the opposite.


People of Sherman love their football, and they like winners. The stadium is filled every Friday night. Can Mr. Hambrick find another coach who will be a winner like Kinne. I and many more people of Sherman sure hope so. Good luck Coach Kinne, wherever you go. You’re a winner!
