I wrote, earlier in the season, about the words to "The Twelve Days of Christmas" and doing so started me thinking about how out of date that song is these days. I mean, what woman needs all of those birds? And where on Earth would one store lords a leaping or drummers drumming?

I wrote, earlier in the season, about the words to "The Twelve Days of Christmas" and doing so started me thinking about how out of date that song is these days. I mean, what woman needs all of those birds? And where on Earth would one store lords a leaping or drummers drumming?

So, I decided I would try to write some new lyrics for the song.

One the first day of Christmas a true love who really wanted to get to a woman’s heart would bring a Kuerig coffee brewing system;

On the second day of Christmas a true love might want to send two cell phones;

On the third day of Christmas a true love should send gift certificates for three French manicures;

On the fourth day of Christmas a true love should send four charged Halos;

On the fifth day of Christmas a true love should go with tradition and show up with those five golden rings;

On the sixth day of Christmas a true love should send six dozen K-cups;

On the seventh day of Christmas a true love should send seven desserts ready for baking;

On the eight day of Christmas a true love should send eight iRobots cleaning;

On the ninth day of Christmas a true love should send nine music downloads;

On the tenth day of Christmas a true should send ten champagne corks (with bottles attached) for popping;

On the 11th day of Christmas a true love should send 11 cooked hors d’oeuvres cooling;

On the 12th day of Christmas a true love should send 12 ebooks for reading.

OK, I will be the first to admit mine don’t fit the music very well, but they would be a heck of a lot more useful in this day and age. Most of it could be used to throw right fine Christmas party, in fact.

Of course, this is not MY personal 12-day Christmas list since I don’t even drink coffee. I just happen to know A LOT of women who do and who count on it to get them through holiday craziness.

And, I am convinced everyone on this planet should own a Halo (to keep for emergencies when our constant companions of the electronic variety die on us).
