For many, this is the month of resolutions. How are those going for those of you who made them. I didn’t make any resolutions exactly. I just have a few plans have put into action. So far, I am doing pretty well with those. Not perfect, but not too shabby either.

For many, this is the month of resolutions. How are those going for those of you who made them. I didn’t make any resolutions exactly. I just have a few plans have put into action. So far, I am doing pretty well with those. Not perfect, but not too shabby either.

I did finally get all of the Christmas decorations taken down and put away. I would feel pretty amazing about that, but I had a lot of help, and there are still some Halloween decorations lurking in a few corners of the house. I just never seem to have the time to stop and deal with them when I come across them.

By the time I get the pumpkins all put away, I will be hiding Easter eggs. Which, incidentally, they are already selling in a few local stores. Not that I would mind skipping right over Valentine’s Day, but really I do believe the bunny and his marshmallow friends could hibernate just a bit longer.

Though I am not ready for the spring holidays, I am longing for spring itself. Notice please that I said spring and not summer. I am looking for warmth, not heat. Last Sunday was a picture perfect winter day for me.

I know the weather will continue to go up and down for months, but I hope we have seen the last of what I would call "real winter" weather. I am not made for shoveling ice or snow or anything really.

But back to the resolutions — for those of you still working on them, remember to be forgiving if you slip up. Just get up the next day and go from there.

They say that every long journey begins with a single step. I am sure that is true, and I really applaud those of you I see out and about early every morning running and walking your way to fitness. I also applaud those of you I see at the grocery store with your carts full of fresh vegetables and other health items.

I am happy that I am not on television because many of you don’t recognize me as I walk past you with my cart full of less of those items than I would like to admit.

Until someone decides bacon is a health food, I am probably never going to be accused of pushing healthy eating.
