BONHAM — Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center and the city of Bonham will host the 23rd Annual Regional Veterans Day Program, at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, at the Bonham High School Warrior football stadium.

BONHAM — Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center and the city of Bonham will host the 23rd Annual Regional Veterans Day Program, at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, at the Bonham High School Warrior football stadium.


Colors will be presented by the Paralyzed Veterans of America color guard. Additional program performances will include the Bonham High School band, PVA wheelchair rifle volley and the Navy Junior ROTC from Greenville High School will be among the highlights of the day. Military vehicles from the Military Vehicle Preservation and Historical Club from Sherman, and the Military Heritage Collection from Nevada will also be on hand.


Guest speaker will be Chief Master Sergeant Vance Clarke,US Air Force-Ret. He began his career serving as the superintendent of four supply flights and worked at air staff and major command levels. He also served as a command chief master sergeant in six different commands for almost ten years. He served in this capacity for Air Force Recruiting Service, 7th Air Force and four wings, including the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing, Ali Al Salem, Kuwait during his 30-year Air Force career. As a Command Chief Master Sergeant, he served as the senior enlisted leader, responsible for executing all enlisted matters.


This event is an opportunity for Bonham and surrounding communities to honor veterans and serves as an educational opportunity for students to learn more about veterans and their sacrifice for freedom throughout history.
