Four Republicans have filed to replace Grayson County Judge Drue Bynum on the County’s Commissioners Court. The race includes some old political pros like Gene Short, Bill Magers and Trent Bass and one new face, Jim Maddock . Early voting for the March Primary begins Feb. 18 and goes trough Feb. 28.


Each of the four candidates were asked two questions by the Herald Democrat and their responses are featured on this page. The two questions were:


1. What is the biggest issue facing Grayson County in the next decade and how would you address it?


2. Explain the role of the county judge in county government. Explain what it is about your background that makes you the right person to fill this position.

Each of the candidates for Grayson County Judge, and other candidates. have been invited to speak at a forum at 7 p.m. Tuesday at second floor of the Grayson County Courthouse. The public is invited to attend.
