Theft - On Tuesday officers were dispatched to the 400 block of U.S. Highway 82 in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, witnesses stated that the suspects, a man and a woman, left in a white PT Cruiser. Officers located the suspects and stopped them at the intersection of North Travis Street and East Lamberth Road. Stolen property was recovered. The witnesses had video of the man and woman stealing the items. Police arrested the suspects for theft. While at the Grayson County Jail, the woman was found to be in possession of Xanax. While the officer was collecting the evidence she grabbed the pills and swallowed several of them, destroying the evidence. The woman was also booked in for possession of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence.
Criminal mischief - An object was thrown through a window of a home Tuesday in the 1300 block of South Walnut Street, causing the window pane to shatter. Police made a report for criminal mischief.
Cruelty to animals - An officer went Tuesday to the 400 block of South Gribble Avenue in reference to a cat that had been shot. A man said he found his cat dead in the backyard that morning, and the cat appeared to have two small caliber gun shot wounds. The officer made a report for cruelty to animals.
Theft - A man called police Tuesday to report a theft. Sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, an unknown suspect removed his 20-inch bicycle from the side of his residence in the 900 block of South Willow Street. Police made a report for theft.
Theft - On Tuesday, employees at a store in the 400 block of East Highway 82 observed a man concealing merchandise inside of the store and then attempting to leave without paying. The man was detained and identified. Arrangements were made for a family member to take custody of his small child that was with him. Police arrested the man for theft and took him to the Grayson County Jail.
Burglary - On Tuesday a resident in the 1900 block of North Alexander Street reported sometime during the night, an unknown suspect stole an item from his attached garage. Police made a report for burglary of habitation.
Robbery - Police dispatch received a call Tuesday from employees at a business in the 400 block of East U.S. Highway 82 reporting that a man had shoplifted, assaulted an employee and fled from the store. An off-duty Ector Officer detained the suspect at Town Center. Police arrested the suspect. He was charged with robbery and taken to the Grayson County Jail.
Driving while license invalid - An officer stopped a car Tuesday for expired registration in the 100 block of East Lamar Street. It was discovered that the driver had a suspended license and a previous conviction for driving while license invalid. The officer arrested the driver for driving while license invalid with previous convictions and took him to the Grayson County Jail.
Assault - A physical fight/assault took place Tuesday at a motel in the 1800 block of Texoma Parkway. Police made a report for assault causes bodily injury.
Found property - On Tuesday an officer went to the 200 block of North Travis Street in reference to found property. The reporting party said that a small zip up bag was found on the property containing several items of drug paraphernalia commonly used for methamphetamine. The officer took the items and submitted them to evidence at the Sherman Police Department.
Fail to identify - An officer conducted a traffic stop Tuesday on a vehicle in the 200 block of West Lamberth Road. The suspect driver provided a false name, and the officer discovered that she was wanted for outstanding warrants. The officer arrested the suspect for failure to identify fugitive intent give false information.
Harassment - Police dispatched an officer Tuesday to the 2400 block of South First Street in reference to harassment. The victim told the officer she received text messages from her brother stating he was going to harm her car. The suspect confessed to making the threat over a text message.
Forgery - On Tuesday, counterfeit bills were passed at a restaurant located in the 3400 block of North U.S. Highway 75. An officer was dispatched to the scene to investigate. A suspect car was identified. The officer made a report for forgery.
Assault - On Wednesday, police dispatched officers to the 200 block of Colorado Street in reference to a disturbance. A woman claimed to have been assaulted by her live-in boyfriend. Her statement and injuries were not consistent, according to the police report. Police made a report for assault causes bodily injury family violence.
Criminal Mischief - A man called police Wednesday to report criminal mischief. Sometime between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m on Tuesday, an unknown suspect used red paint and a black indelible marker to draw obscene pictures on the South side of a building located in the 500 block of West Lamar Street. The man said various words and photos were drawn on the building and doors of the business. Police made a report for criminal mischief.
Harassment - An officer went to a motel room Wednesday in the 2400 block of Texoma Parkway in reference to a woman receiving numerous text messages. The woman told the officer she had received approximately 60 messages within a 15-minute time period from the same person, whom she had told in the past to stop texting her. The officer made a report for harassment.
Harassment - A woman and her daughter came to the police department Wednesday to report harassing text messages they received from a person they know. Police made a report for harassment.
Theft - On Wednesday, an officer went to the 2400 block of Texoma Parkway in reference to a theft. The victim reported that more than $1,500 worth of cash, perfume and two tablets were stolen.
Criminal mischief - A woman called police Wednesday to report criminal mischief. Sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m., a suspect known to the woman was believed to have used a sharp object to damage the passenger side of the her car. At the time the damage occurred, the car was parked in the 100 block of Travis Street. The estimated cost of repair is approximately $400. Police made a report for criminal mischief.
Possession of a controlled substance - An officer stopped a woman Wednesday in the 2700 block of Loy Lake Road for a traffic violation. She was found to be in possession of narcotics and was arrested and taken to the Grayson County Jail.
Driving while intoxicated - Officers stopped a vehicle Wednesday in the 100 block of North Travis Street for a traffic violation. The driver admitted to having consumed alcohol prior to driving. Officers conducted field sobriety tests on him. Police arrested the driver and took him to the Grayson County Jail. A report was made for driving while intoxicated.
Driving while license invalid - An officer initiated a traffic stop Wednesday in the 1800 block of Crescent Drive. The driver was found to have a suspended license with previous convictions of driving while license invalid. The officer arrested the driver and made a report for driving while license invalid with previous convictions.
Criminal trespass - On Wednesday an officer observed the suspect walk onto the property of a business in the 500 block of West Lamar Street. The suspect had a criminal trespass warning for the property. The officer arrested the suspect and made a report for criminal trespass.
Theft - Police were informed of a theft Wednesday by employees at a business in the 400 block of East U.S. Highway 82. An officer investigated the call and learned the suspect stole clothing valued over $50 but less that $500. An officer arrested the woman for theft.
Failure to display driver’s license on demand - An officer initiated a traffic stop Wednesday with a car in the 2100 block Texoma Parkway. The driver failed to display his driver’s license to the officer. The officer arrested the driver for fail to display driver’s license on demand and made an offense report.
Assault - On Thursday, an officer went to the 5100 block of North Travis Street in reference to an assault. The caller reported she and her boyfriend were arguing over a pack of cigarettes. The argument escalated, and ended with the boyfriend striking the caller in the face. The suspect was later spoken to and denied the assault. The officer made a report for assault causes bodily injury family member.
No driver’s license - An officer initiated a traffic stop Thursday and discovered that the driver was the suspect in an earlier assault. During the traffic stop, it was also learned the suspect did not have a driver’s license. The officer arrested the suspect for no driver’s license and took him to the Grayson County Jail.
Theft - A woman called police Thursday to report a theft. Sometime between 6:03 p.m. Tuesday and 5 p.m. Wednesday, $50 was removed from the woman’s wallet while visiting her mother in the 400 block of South Gribble Avenue. The money had been located in the woman’s wallet which was in a diaper bag in her vehicle. According to the woman, her brother removed the diaper bag from her vehicle and brought it into the residence for her. She said when she opened the diaper bag, she discovered her wallet was open and the money was no longer inside. Police made a report for theft.
Fail to identify - On Thursday, an officer went to the 4100 block of North U.S. Highway 75 in reference to a disturbance between two groups of people. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with one of the men who was involved in the disturbance. Once detained, the man provided a false name and date of birth. The officer made an offense report.
