Theft — Officers responded to a disturbance Tuesday at a house in the 200 block of N. Cleveland Avenue. A woman said that her Shih Tzu dog had been stolen. The officers then went to the 100 block of S. Carr Avenue to speak with possible suspects. The house was empty, and officers did not find a dog. The officers made a report for theft of property.

Theft — Tuesdayl a business in the 18000 block of W. U.S. Highway 82 reported that several all-terrain vehicles had been stolen during the night.


Debit card abuse — A woman went Tuesday to the Sherman Police Department to report a theft. The woman said her debit card had been used several times without her consent, and that she knows the suspect who made the transactions. Police made a report.


Attempted burglary of building — Police received a report Tuesday of an attempted burglary of a business in the 2700 block of Fallon Drive. Two unknown individuals had cut a fence and chain to a locked gate and damaged a security light. Police made a report for attempted burglary of building.


Theft — An officer responded to a burglary Tuesday at a business in the 300 block of U.S. Highway 82. The victim said that air conditioners on the business had been burglarized. The officer took photographs, gathered information and made a report.


Theft — Police responded Tuesday to a theft at a store in the 400 block of E. U.S. Highway 82. Store employees witnessed a woman concealing items and attempting to leave the store without paying. Police arrested the woman for theft.


Theft — An officer responded to a theft Tuesday at a store in the 400 block of E. U.S. Highway 82. Store employees said they observed a woman selecting a rug and taking it to customer service where she received money for the item. They also observed the same woman removing the tag from a blanket, putting the blanket in a basket with her small child, then leaving the business without paying for it. Employees had detained the woman and recovered the items. The officer arrested the woman for theft.


Theft — An officer responded to a theft Tuesday at a store in the 400 block of E. U.S. Highway 82. A store employee told the officer as he was walking in that they were about to "get another one." The employee and another employee stopped a man as he was leaving the store who had several boxes of cough medicine on his person. The man then lied to the officer about his name, date of birth, and address. The man arrested the officer for theft of property and failure to identify.


Denison police


Driving while intoxicated — Wednesday an officer observed a driver committing several traffic violations in the 1100 block of M.L. King Street. When the officer attempted to stop the car, the suspect fled, driving recklessly. The car came to a stop and the officer arrested the driver for driving while intoxicated, evading arrest/detention with a motor vehicle, driving while license invalid enhanced, no proof of financial responsibility and several outstanding Grayson County warrants.


Possession of a controlled substance — An officer conducted a traffic stop Wednesday in the 1600 block of S. Austin Avenue. The officer arrested the driver for outstanding Denison PD warrants. A passenger in the car was in possession of a crystal like substance that field tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine. The officer arrested the passenger for possession of a controlled substance.
