Possession of marijuana — Monday an officer found a small bag of marijuana in the rear seat of his marked patrol car. Officers were unable to determine the source of the marijuana. A report was made for possession of marijuana less than two ounces. There are no suspects in this case.

Denison Police


Theft — On Feb. 7, employees at a store in the 400 block of N. U.S. Highway 75 said a woman attempted to take items from the store without paying for them. Police arrested the woman for theft. During the booking process at the jail, police found that the woman was in possession of marijuana. The woman was also charged with possession of marijuana under two ounces.


Burglary — A man reported to police Feb. 8 a burglary that occurred in the 3800 block of Pottsboro Road. The victim said tools, a television and some jewelry were taken from his house. Police will be following up on leads.


Possession of marijuana — An officer conducted a traffic stop Feb. 8 in the 1600 block of S. Mirick Avenue. During the stop, the officer smelled an odor of marijuana coming from inside the car. Both occupants of the car were in possession of marijuana. The officer arrested both of the occupants for possession of marijuana over four ounces in a drug-free zone.


Family violence — Officers responded to a case of family violence on Feb. 9 in the 3800 block of Texoma Parkway. The victim said that her boyfriend assaulted her by biting her upper lip and pushing her down. She then pushed the suspect to the ground and held him down to prevent him from assaulting her any further. The suspect was not at the scene when officers arrived. A completed case will be forwarded to the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office.


Theft — On Feb. 10 officers responded to a theft in the 400 block of E. Morton Street. The victim said that a relative took his 32-inch television from his house without his permission. The investigation will continue.


Theft — On Feb. 11 officers responded to a theft in the 300 block of W. Texas Street. The victim said that an unknown suspect removed his leaf blower and a shop vac from his back porch.


Criminal mischief — A resident reported criminal mischief Feb. 11 that occurred in the 600 block of W. Chestnut Street. Someone had kicked in the resident’s front door, but nothing was missing from the house. Police will be following up on leads.


Possession of marijuana — On Feb. 12 an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of W. Crawford Street. The driver was in possession of marijuana. The officer arrested the driver and took him to the Grayson County Jail.


Domestic disturbance — A victim told police Feb. 12 that her boyfriend assaulted her in the 700 block of W. Hanna Street by punching and slapping her. The suspect fled the scene as officers were arriving. A case will be presented to the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office.


Sherman Police

Burglary — A man went Monday to the Sherman Police Department and reported that between Feb. 7 and Feb. 14, an unknown suspect entered his truck while it was parked in the 700 block of S. FM 1417 and removed items without his consent.


Assault — Police responded to a disturbance Monday in the 500 block of S. Willow Street. The victim said her boyfriend choked her until she fell unconscious. Police arrested the suspect for assault and took him to the Grayson County Jail.


Burglary — A woman reported Monday that someone entered her car and removed property from it while it was parked in the 1100 block of W. College Street. Police made a report for burglary of vehicle.
