Driving while intoxicated — Jan. 31 an officer was on patrol in the 200 block of N. Burdette Avenue and noticed a car stopped at a stop sign with the driver passed out behind the steering wheel, according to police reports. The officer awoke the driver and turned the car off. The driver failed field sobriety tasks given and had a previous conviction for Driving While Intoxicated. The officer arrested the driver for driving while intoxicated and took him to the Grayson County Jail.

Theft — An officer went on Jan. 31 to a house in the 900 block of East Wells Avenue regarding a victim reported property stolen from her house. The officer made a report for theft.


Theft — Police responded on Jan. 31 to the 700 block of North Ross Avenue after a man reported that someone had stolen his medications. Police conducted an investigation and made a report for theft of property.


Assault — An officer responded on Jan. 31 to a fight between two men in the 900 block of S. Travis Street. The officer investigated and found that the victim had asked the suspect to stop yelling and cursing in the parking lot. The suspect then approached the victim and punched him in the face. The victim fought back and knocked out one of the suspect’s teeth. The officer made a report for assault causing bodily injury.


Burglary — An officer responded on Jan. 31 to a burglary of a coin-operated machine in the 1700 block of S. FM 1417. A coin operated air compressor had been burglarized sometime during the week and an undetermined amount of change was stolen.


Loud noise — Jan. 31 an officer went to the 1800 block of W. Washington Street regarding a disturbance. When he arrived, the officer heard a woman screaming and using profane language. The officer gave the woman multiple warnings, but she continued to yell and use profane language, causing a breach of the peace. The officer arrested the woman and made a report for loud, disturbing and unnecessary noise.


Unauthorized use of vehicle — An officer went to investigate a possible stolen car on Jan. 31 in the 800 block of S. Gribble Street. Before the officer arrived, the caller reported that the suspect had returned the car. When the officer arrived, the victim said that her roommate took her car without permission. The officer went to speak to the suspect, but she had fled when learning that the police were en route. The officer made a report for unauthorized use of vehicle.


Possession of marijuana — On Saturday officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of E. Ann Avenue. During the stop an officer asked for consent to search the car, and the driver denied consent. The officers called a K9 unit, and the K9 alerted on the car. The officers arrested the driver for possession of marijuana and took her to the Grayson County Jail.


Driving while license invalid — An officer conducted a traffic stop Saturday in the 1100 block of N. East Street. The driver had a suspended driver’s license and did not have motor vehicle insurance. Police towed the driver’s car and issued a citation for no insurance. The charge of driving while license invalid will be filed at large.


Assault — An officer responded to an assault Saturday in the 500 block of N. Maple Street. The victim said she had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The victim had markings on her body indicating a possible assault had occurred. The suspect left prior to officers’ arrival. The officers made a report for assault family/household member with previous conviction.


Interference with emergency call — An officer responded to a disturbance Saturday in the 1500 block of S. Austin Street. There had been a verbal disturbance between a husband and a wife, and an adult son prevented an emergency call from being made. The officer made a report for interference with emergency call.


Assault — Sunday, police went to the 1100 block of S. Montgomery Street regarding a disturbance. A woman said that her boyfriend had choked her. The suspect had fled prior to police arrival. Police made a report.


Public intoxication of a minor — An officer went Sunday to the 4100 block of Town Center Street regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect and his two friends, who were causing the disturbance. The suspect displayed indications of intoxication and admitted to drinking alcohol. His level of intoxication made him a danger to himself and others, police said. Police arrested the suspect for public intoxication. Once at the jail, police discovered that the suspect was in possession of a concealed knife. Police also charged the suspect with prohibited substance in correction facility — possession of deadly weapon.


Public intoxication — Monday, police received a report that a woman who said she was cold and did not have anywhere to go was at a business in the 3100 block of North U.S. Highway 75. An officer responded to the location and identified the woman. The officer determined that the woman was intoxicated and presented a danger to herself and others. The officer arrested the woman for public intoxication and took her to the Grayson County Jail.


Criminal mischief — Monday, a woman called police and reported criminal mischief that occurred in the 1900 block of Princess Drive. Sometime between 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 24 and 8:45 a.m. on Jan. 25, an unknown suspect shattered the driver’s side front window of her car. Police made a report for criminal mischief.


Credit card abuse — A woman called police Monday to report credit card abuse. The woman’s wallet had been stolen while she was shopping Jan. 18 in the 600 block of Graham Drive. A short time after having her wallet stolen, the woman learned an unknown suspect had used her credit card in the 1800 block of Texoma Parkway without her knowledge or consent. The amount of the unauthorized charge was $382. Police made a report for credit card abuse.


Debit card abuse — A woman went Monday to the Sherman Police Department to report debit card abuse. The woman said that her debit card was missing from her wallet and she found several unauthorized charges on her bank statement. Police made a report for debit card abuse.


Theft — A woman called police Monday and reported a theft that occurred at a store in the 300 block of E. Highway 82. On Jan. 25 a man and woman entered the store. The man distracted the store employee while the woman removed an item worth $649. Police made a report for theft.


Burglary — An officer responded Monday to a store in the 400 block of E. Highway 82 regarding a theft. A store employee said that a woman had removed an item from its packaging, concealed it and then tried to leave without paying. The woman had numerous convictions for theft, and a previous criminal trespass warning from the store. The officer arrested the woman for burglary of a building.


Theft — Monday, a woman reported that her wallet was stolen from her purse while she was in a business in the 400 block of E. Highway 82. Police made a report for theft, and the investigation is ongoing.


Criminal mischief — Police received a call Monday regarding a car being damaged in the 1900 block of Texoma Parkway. Officer responded to the location and determined that an unknown suspect had thrown eggs onto the hood and windshield of the car.
