Possession of fireworks — Thursday, officers located a suspicious car parked in the 4600 block of Lone Grove Way. The suspect was in possession of fireworks within the city limits of Sherman. The officers arrested the suspect for possession of fireworks.

Theft — Wednesday, an officer responded to a theft at a business in the 400 block of E. U.S. Highway 82. An employee said a suspect had stolen some property from the store. The suspect had more than two previous convictions of theft and a criminal trespass warning for the business. The officer arrested the suspect for theft.


Theft — An officer went Wednesday to a store in the 4100 block of N. U.S. Highway 75 regarding a theft. Store employees had detained a man and woman for shoplifting. The officer arrested the man and woman for theft and made an offense report.


Assault — An officer responded Wednesday to the 1400 block of N. East Street regarding an assault that occurred in the 1800 block of Loy Lake Road. The victim said he had been assaulted by his ex-roommate during an argument about an outstanding debt. The suspect said the victim was intoxicated and fell, causing his injuries. The officer made a report for assault causes bodily injury family member.


Possession of a controlled substance — An officer stopped a man riding a bicycle Thursday in the 100 block of W. Lark Lane. The officer asked the man for permission to search his person, and the man consented. The officer found a bag of methamphetamine in the man’s wallet, which the man admitted to recently buying. The officer arrested the man for possession of a controlled substance.


Aggravated kidnapping — A woman reported to police Thursday several incidents of aggravated assault that occurred in the 300 block of Archer Drive. The officer documented her allegations of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated kidnapping, and forwarded the reports to the Criminal Investigation Division.


Theft — A woman called police Thursday to report a theft that occurred in the 2300 block of W. Taylor Street. Sometime between Feb. 10 and March 21, an unknown person removed a ruby ring valued at $1,250 from the woman’s apartment. Police made a report for theft.


Theft — Thursday, an officer spoke with a man in the 300 block of S. F.M. 1417 regarding stolen property. The man said his utility trailer had been stolen from the parking lot the night before. The officer made a report for theft.


Found property — An officer went Thursday to the 300 block of S. Travis Street regarding found property. A citizen found a credit card in the 600 block of E. Taylor Street. The officer seized the credit card for safekeeping and made a found property report.


Criminal mischief — While patrolling Friday in the 500 block of N. Walnut Street, an officer noticed that a glass door to one of the businesses was broken and stopped to investigate. It appeared that an unknown person got a rail tie and threw it at the glass door, causing it to shatter. The person did not gain entry into the building. The officer made a report for criminal mischief.


Criminal trespass — Friday, Police received a report of a suspicious person at a business in the 500 block of W. Lamar Street. The suspect had been issued a criminal trespass warning at the request of the business, but refused to leave the property. The officer arrested the suspect for criminal trespass.
