Theft — A man called police Monday to report a theft. On Nov. 22 while at a store in the 400 block of E. Highway 82, the man saw a suspect conceal a knife and leave the store. When confronted about the theft, the suspect ran out of the front doors of the store, entered a waiting vehicle and drove away without paying for the merchandise. Police made a report for theft.

Burglary — Monday a woman called police to report a burglary at her house in the 300 block of W. Olive Street. Sometime between 2:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, an unknown suspect attempted to enter the woman’s house. The suspect kicked the back door to get into the house, causing damage to the door jamb. Police made a report for criminal attempt - burglary.


Criminal Mischief — Monday a man called police to report criminal mischief. Sometime between 6:45 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, an unknown suspect attempted to break into the man’s truck while it was parked in the 400 block of N. Highway 75. The suspect was unsuccessful at entering into the truck, however, they damaged the front driver’s side door in the process. Police made a report for criminal mischief.


Theft — An officer was dispatched Monday to a theft in the 400 block of S. Crockett Street. Police were told that an unknown suspect stole copper tubing from an air conditioner unit. The officer made a report for theft.


Assault — A woman called police Monday to report she had been assaulted by her ex-girlfriend. Police responded to the 1600 block of La Salle Drive and conducted an investigation. Police made a report for assault causing bodily injury - family member.


Emergency Detention Order — Monday police responded to a call in the 700 block of E. Cherry Street. The suspect had sent text messages to someone stating he wanted to kill himself. The man was located in the 500 block of N. Highland Street. The suspect admitted to police officers he wanted to kill himself. The suspect was taken into custody and admitted into Texas Health Presbyterian WNJ Hospital on an emergency detention.


Debit Card Abuse — Monday a woman reported that someone had used her debit card without her consent.


Denison Police


Possession of Marijuana — Friday officers observed a truck that had several items of property in the bed in an area where burglaries had occurred. The vehicle pulled into the parking lot of a local night club located in the 300 block of W. Coffin Street. Police found that one of the occupants of the truck was found to have an outstanding Grayson County warrant and was also found to be in possession of marijuana. Police arrested the man for the outstanding warrant and for possession of marijuana, less than two ounces.


Domestic Disturbance — Police responded to a domestic disturbance Friday in the 500 block of E. Day Street. A man told police that his 13-year-old son assaulted him and another family member by kicking, hitting and slapping them. The juvenile was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence. He was booked in at the Denison Police Department and then transferred to the Juvenile Detention Center.


Burglary — A woman told police Friday that someone stole her purse from her unlocked car while it was parked in the 1100 block of Reba McEntire Lane. The woman named a possible suspect.


Burglary — Police responded Saturday to a burglary in the 1000 block of N. Burnett Avenue. An unknown suspect had entered the house through a window and stole copper wiring. The HVAC unit was in the backyard and was disassembled.


Traffic Stop — Officers stopped a car Sunday in the 200 block of S. Crockett Avenue for a minor traffic violation. Police found that the driver had outstanding Denison Police Department warrants and arrested her for them. Police also found the passenger to be in possession of metal knuckles and was arrested for possession of a prohibited weapon.


Burglary — Police responded Sunday to a burglary at a house in the 1800 block of S. Fannin Avenue. Someone entered the house and stole a TV and a Play Station 3. Police will be following up on leads.


Shoplifting — Monday police responded to a store in the 400 block of N. U.S. Highway 75 regarding a theft. Store employees said a man concealed $125.17 worth of items and left the store without paying. Police arrested the man for theft over $50.
