Burglary — On Friday an officer spoke with a woman in the 1200 block of South Travis Street. The woman said she had been away from her house for a couple of days, and when she returned she found that a window had been broken and several items were missing. The officer made a report for burglary of a habitation.
Theft — An officer responded to a theft on Friday at a construction site in the 3200 block of West Heritage Parkway. An unknown suspect removed wheels from a trailer that had been left at the location overnight. The officer made a report for theft of property, $500 to $1,500.
Fraud — A woman came to the Sherman Police Department on Friday to report that someone had used her social security number to buy television service. Police made a report for fraudulent use/possession of identifying information.
Fraud — Last Friday an officer went to a house in the 300 block of South Travis Street to respond to reports of fraud. A man told the officer that someone had been using his personal information to buy miscellaneous items. The officer made a report.
Theft — A woman came to the Sherman Police Department on Friday and reported that an oven was stolen from her house in the 200 block of West Steadman Street. Police made a report for theft of property, $500 to $1500.
Burglary — On Friday an officer responded to a burglary at a vacant house in the 100 block of North Carr Street. The suspect forced entry into the house and stole a washing machine. The officer made a report for burglary of a habitation.
Hit and run accident — Police responded Friday to the 100 block of West Houston Street in reference to a hit and run accident. While a city of Howe vehicle was parked in a parking space, a white car struck the city vehicle and fled the scene. Police made an accident report and a report for duty on striking an unattended vehicle.
Theft — Police went to the 100 block of South Brinkley Street Friday in reference to a stolen truck. The victim told police that a 1998 single-cab Chevrolet pickup was taken from their driveway sometime between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Police made a report for theft of property, $1,500 to $20,000.
Aggravated assault — An officer went to a house in the 900 block of South Bryant Avenue Friday to respond to a disturbance. When the officer arrived, several people were outside the house yelling at each other. The officer was told that a boyfriend and girlfriend had been arguing, and each called family members to come join the argument. The woman, who was the girlfriend, told the officer that one of her boyfriend’s family members arrived and pointed a gun at her, causing her to fear for her life. The suspect left the scene prior to the officer’s arrival. The officer made a report for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and the investigation is ongoing.
Forgery — Police were informed Friday that a counterfeit bill was used at a business in the 3400 block of Texoma Parkway. An officer went to the business and collected the bill for evidence. Police made a forgery report and forwarded it to the CID.
Assault — On Friday an officer went to a house in the 900 block of South Bryant Avenue in reference to a disturbance. A woman told the officer that she and a man that was her boyfriend had been involved in a physical altercation the night before. The officer spoke to both the woman and the man, and each claimed to have been assaulted and admitted to assaulting each other. A report was made for assault causing bodily injury to family member.
Driving with license invalid — An officer initiated a traffic stop with a car Saturday in the 2500 block of Texoma Parkway. The officer found that the driver of the car had a suspended driver’s license and had a previous conviction for driving while license invalid. The driver was arrested for driving while license invalid, and a report was made.
Found property — On Saturday a wallet containing several personal items was found in a parking lot in the 500 block of West Lamar Street. Police contacted the wallet’s owner and made a report for found property.
