SUWANEE, Ga. — Austin College football players Bryce Murphy and Nathan Packard have been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively.

SUWANEE, Ga. — Austin College football players Bryce Murphy and Nathan Packard have been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively.


Murphy, a junior running back from Crawford, rushed 20 times for 145 yards and two touchdowns to lead Austin College to its third straight win with a 25-6 victory over Southwestern. Murphy scored on runs of 58 and 27 yards in the first quarter and increased his SCAC-leading rushing total to 818 yards this season.


Packard, a senior linebacker from Dallas, led the team with 10 tackles, including six solo stops and two tackles for loss, and earned his Special Teams Player of the Week honors when he blocked a punt to force a safety in the second quarter.
